Ruby is a gem of a pup.  She's a pure-bred toy australian shepherd so she's a tiny girl - she's full grown at just 24 pounds.  She is 5 years old, spayed,  and up to date on vaccinations.  Ruby loves children and gets along great with other dogs.  She is probably fine with cats.  We tried cat testing her and when she went to sniff the cat, the cat decided he didn't want any part of that so he swiped her with his paw and ran away.  Poor Ruby - she just wanted to make a new friend!  Ruby is housetrained and walks well on a leash.

She is an owner surrender due to her owner worrying that she would be shot by a neighbor.  She chases the deer in their Texas backyard and will sometimes cross over onto the neighbors property and he has threatened to shoot her multiple times.  Her owner wants what is best for her, so they asked us if we could find her a good home.

  • Good with: people of all ages (including kids), and dogs.  Has been around cat, but the cat swiped her and ran off.

  • Weight: 24 pounds
  • Medical: Fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped
  • Location: Ruby is currently located with a foster in Texas, but if adopted, will come to the NJ area on our next transport.
