About Lyles

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
Lyles Lyles was found as a stray and was never claimed so he is now searching for his new forever home. He has a super sweet personality and gets along with dogs & cats at the shelter. Lyles is about 1 year old, 35 lbs Neutered and UTD He is high energy and a jumper (we are working on it) so older children are recommended. He acts like a puppy still, and when very excited he is a little mouthy. Adopters should consider basic training. Love to play with a ball. He is very active. He really likes to chew on a bone or dental treat when he's laying down. He loves to play. He also likes to roam around the house. He loves to cuddle. He doesn't get tired of pets and kisses. He also likes to explore. For the most part he likes to follow you around but he will get up to explore another room. He loves running around, fetch (we are still working on him bringing it back every time), and chewing on toys. At night he sleeps in the crate. I would say he is almost crate trained. As long as you don't lock him in there and leave right away, he will not bark. We give him a few treats when he first gets in, and then we sit next to the crate, put a blanket over it (so he doesn't see us moving around), spend another minute with him and then he stays quiet the entire time. It works the same when you leave during the day. He has been doing this since the first night. He loves everyone; however, he likes to chase things. He also jumps up and is mouthy. He doesn't bite down hard, but he plays with his mouth. An experienced owner will have to work with him to help him learn manners. We have been correcting him, and he is improving with all of the above a lot, but there is still a little work to do. I think he will understand very quickly with some basic professional training and an experienced owner. For right now (since it's early in his training), teenagers would be best. He gets along with dogs and cats. Halfway to be housetrained. If you’d like to give this boy his forever home please fill out our adoption application: https://form.jotform.com/210286667669167
